Trevor Curtis

CORE Equipment & Environmental Ltd. was founded in 2018 by Trevor Curtis, an experienced solid waste management professional with more than 20 years of industry experience across British Columbia.

Prior to founding CORE, Trevor served as B.C. Interior Operations Manager for S.S.G. Holdings Ltd. and later GFL Environmental Inc. following its acquisition of S.S.G. During his career, he has managed complex landfill and solid waste operations throughout the province, building extensive hands-on experience in facility operations, heavy equipment management, environmental compliance, safety, staffing and contract management.

Trevor founded CORE with a clear vision: to provide municipalities and regional districts with a knowledgeable, accountable and highly responsive operating partner. Under his leadership, CORE has grown into an established B.C. solid waste contractor specializing in landfill and transfer station operations, diversion and recycling programs, and specialized heavy equipment services.

Trevor remains actively involved in CORE’s day-to-day operations and works closely with the company’s management teams and field crews. His practical, hands-on approach continues to shape CORE’s commitment to safe operations, dependable service, environmental stewardship and strong partnerships with the communities it serves.

SALMON ARM REFUSE DISPOSAL SITE

Columbia Shuswap Regional District

CORE has proudly operated the Salmon Arm Refuse Disposal Site since 2019. Following the successful completion of our initial five-year term, CORE was awarded a new long-term operating contract in 2024, continuing our partnership with the Columbia Shuswap Regional District.

Our team manages the daily operation of the landfill, including working face management and compaction, heavy equipment operation, material diversion, site and road maintenance, litter control, public interaction and ongoing operational support.

Years of continuous operation at Salmon Arm have allowed our team to develop a deep understanding of the facility, the community it serves and the importance of delivering consistent, reliable service every day.

LILLOOET LANDFILL & RECYCLING CENTRE

Squamish-Lillooet Regional District

CORE provides comprehensive operations and facility management at the Lillooet Landfill & Recycling Centre, where our responsibilities extend across disposal, recycling, diversion and community-facing services.

Our team manages landfill operations, scale services, heavy equipment, recycling and material diversion programs, composting, the community reuse shed, road and site maintenance, litter control, public interaction and coordination of specialized services.

The breadth of our work at Lillooet reflects CORE's approach to modern solid waste management: operate efficiently, recover and divert materials wherever practical, maintain a safe and organized facility, and provide dependable service to the community.
